Nature Trails: Want to enhance your wellbeing and immerse yourself in nature? Head off the beaten track on the Museum’s nature trails – look for insects, flowers, birds, trees and bats. If you are lucky you may see one of the peregrine falcons that nest along the valley, red kites, or buzzards, and you may hear skylarks or lapwings. In summer, you may encounter common blue or even chalk hill blue butterflies or spot a common orchid.

Facilities

Parking: Parking is FREE for museum visitors. You can find the visitor car park opposite Amberley railway station. The car park is managed by Countrywide Parking and is open 24/7. All museum visitors benefit from FREE parking, by entering their car registration number at the Shop when they visit. You do not need to use the Ringo App. Non-museum visitors can park using the Ringo app to pay for their parking.
Food & Drink: Come and visit our lovely Limeburners Café which is open from 10am to close when the Museum is open. Serving breakfast baps from 10am with the main lunch service from 12noon through to 2.30pm
Toilets: The nearest Changing Places toilet is at Aldingbourne Country Centre, near Chichester (PO18 0JP), which is a 12-minute drive from the Museum.
Dogs: We are a dog-friendly museum and we welcome your pets and assistance dogs. Dogs must be kept on a short lead.

By Car: We are on the B2139 between Storrington and Arundel in West Sussex.
By Train: Amberley Station is on the Arun Valley line which runs from London Victoria to Arundel and then on to Bognor Regis, Chichester and Portsmouth. Please check the timetable carefully as not every train stops at Amberley. Amberley train station is just by the Museum gate, with a walk of around 200m to the Museum ticket office.
By Foot: We are on the path of the South Downs Way.Plan your walk with the South downs interactive map at maps.southdowns.gov.uk
By Bike: We are situated close to the Cycle Route on the South Downs Link. We have some bike racks in our car park, or bikes are welcome to be parked just inside the Museum’s entrance (left at owner’s risk).
