Description

Welcome to the Chudleigh Community Project website. The project is a registered charity, formed in 1989, with Charity Commission Registration Number 900204. It contributes to the life of Chudleigh in three key ways – by operating the Community Swimming Pool, managing the Community School Hall outside school hours, and promoting arts and drama events. The pool was built in the 1990s on land leased for 99 years from The Exeter Diocese and Devon County Council, and it opened in 1997.

Activities available include general swimming sessions where adult swimmers pay £6.60, child swimmers pay £4.20, families (2 adults and 2 children) pay £19, and children under 3 can join for free. Lane swimming is offered with separate lanes for slower and faster swimmers, with swimmers paying £6.60 and spectators £2. Adult 10, 20, and 30 swim cards are also available for £59.40, £112.00, and £165.00 respectively. Under 12s sessions are available for families, with 1 adult and 1 child paying £6.60, families (2 adults and 2 children) paying £10.50, additional swimmers £4.20, and spectators £2. Aqua Circuits, held on Thursdays at 7:15 pm, provide a low-impact, full-body resistance workout in the water and are suitable for all abilities. Adult stroke improvers lessons are offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 18th August to 3rd September between 7 pm and 8 pm, available on a pay-as-you-go basis. These activities offer opportunities for all ages to stay active, improve swimming skills, and enjoy time together in a supportive community environment.

Normally open from the end of April/early May to the beginning of September, the crystal clear water is warm! - heated to around 28 deg C and helped by our solar panels. There is a large timber framed shelter adjacent to the shallow end that provides shade when sunny and shelter when wet. The pool has public sessions and is available for hire at other times
