Pottery Painting: Great fun and very sociable, 'Paint A Pot' at Eastcott Studios is a wonderful way of creating unique and cherished gifts, having some family or friends time out, celebrating a birthday, date night or just treating yourself to a relaxing and enjoyable few hours away from the 'hustle and bustles' of life! The session fee includes all the materials you need to complete your project and a small item to paint*. We do however have a wide range of different items in various sizes that you can choose from if you wish.
Handbuilding: Hand Build clay by coiling, pinching or slab building. These friendly, relaxed sessions allow you to be creative with very little previous experience or skill and are available for all ages (please note our evening sessions are aimed at adults only but children are welcome to all sessions before 6pm). The sessions are fun and addictive! You will be surprised how quickly you can make your own mugs, pots, vases or even move on to sculpting!
Raku Firing: RAKU is an exciting, fast firing method which produces unique, individual effects on the pots being fired. You start with a pre-fired pot (ie: bisque), the pot is decorated with RAKU glazes then placed into a special RAKU kiln. Once the piece is literally red hot and glowing, it is carefully lifted from the kiln and placed into a container with combustible materials where it will burst into flames. The lid is replaced on the container forcing out the oxygen and slowly putting out the fire but allowing the smoke effects to add to the process.
Glazing: Really relaxing and therapeutic, this is your chance to get creative and bring your pot alive! Once you have made your pot and it has been fired, either by hand or using a potters wheel, there is nothing more therapeutic than adding those finishing touches that transform your pot with a splash of colour!
Glass Fusion workshop: This workshop will introduce you to the art of glass fusion. You will be shown how to cut glass and introduced to the basic principles of creating fantastic glass art using glass fusion. You will have the opportunity to make approximately two small pieces or one larger item however, should you wish to make more within the time of the workshop, that is fine too but there may be an additional cost for materials.
