  • Ford Park is so much more than a just a park. It’s your charity-run park in the heart of Ulverston, and there’s so much to discover.
  • As you walk around the park, you’ll see wide, green open spaces, a field here you can exercise your dogs, an all English Arboretum, an orchard with picnic area, and a walled garden full of beautiful, seasonal plants and flowers – many of which are available to buy from our plant nursery.
  • Families love the new playground, the wide-open green space to run around and play, and the Woodland Animal Trail along the Zig Zag path is perfect for young explorers.
  • Love events? With family friendly events and activities held throughout the year, there’s always plenty going on in the park and in our community room with terrace, and stunning views of Morecambe Bay.
  • As the gateway to the Sir John Barrow Monument, Ford Park is also a truly unique place to host celebrations – you can even get married at Ford Park. The fields provide wide open spaces for everyone to enjoy, perfect for ball games, exercising and picnicking.
  • You’ll also see many young trees – these trees form our all-British Arboretum and will soon be surrounded by a carpet of wildflowers, encouraging wildlife and pollinators into the park. Our woodland trails and zig-zag path are the perfect hunting ground for our young explorers, with so many trees, plants and inhabitants to discover.
  • The path leads onto a beautiful willow arch – the perfect place to sit in the shade, to rest, read a book or share tales of things discovered in the park…
  • There’s also a picnic bench for those trepid explorers who remembered to pack their lunch! Head back down the main path and discover our walled garden. Filled with seasonal plants, flowers and vegetables our walled garden is a delight to the senses.
