Founded in 1983, the sanctuary now provides a safe, loving home for over 120 donkeys, along with a few goats, chickens, geese, and ducks. Set across 22 acres of peaceful countryside, it offers a calm and family-friendly environment where visitors can meet the donkeys and learn their stories.

Open daily from 11am to 4pm with free entry and parking, donations are always welcome to support the animals’ care. Regular fundraising events, including seasonal shows, make it a rewarding visit for animal lovers all year round.

Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary is set in 22 acres of Oxfordshire countryside and is a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year. It’s a very relaxed, quiet and peaceful place and with over 120 donkeys, there’s always something going on.
The yard is wheelchair accessible and there are plenty of places to just stop, sit and watch the world go by as the donkeys and yard staff go about their daily life.
