Roped Climbing: The centre features a wide variety of roped climbing routes set by experienced route setters. Routes are updated regularly, with a few popular lines staying longer for returning climbers to enjoy.
- The Central Climbing Wall is the standout feature of the centre and a favourite among regular climbers. This impressive wall includes a wide variety of features such as slabs, steep angles, overhangs, bridging sections, corners, arêtes, and overhanging arêtes. Lead routes on the central monolith often traverse between lines as well as taking direct lines, providing a diverse and challenging climbing experience.
- On the Traversing Wall, climbers will find eight shorter routes four designed for children and four for adults with difficulty ranging from easy to very hard. A unique break in the wall offers an added technical challenge, making this area ideal for those new to climbing, or for experienced climbers warming up, cooling down, or refining their technique.
- The Back Wall caters to climbers who enjoy a more exposed and physical experience. With two opposing overhangs and a sloping edge, it provides a real test of strength and balance. The upper section includes routes with high cruxes that add an extra sense of exposure. This wall features one top-rope line, two routes without in-situ quickdraws, and a selection of traditional lead climbs.
- Finally, the Side Wall, standing at around 8 metres high, is a popular choice for both beginners and experienced climbers. With a mix of corners, overhangs, and slabs, it’s a great place for novices to gain confidence and for advanced climbers to test their problem-solving skills on shorter, often more technical climbs.
Bouldering: Kilnworx offers two bouldering rooms, ranging from slabs to the large Cave, featuring the impressive central Stalactite. The main hall is surrounded by additional rooms, which will continue to expand with more climbing options throughout the year.
Taster Climbing Session: A 90-minute session that includes all basic equipment. Ideal for beginners, this session offers your first experience of climbing in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Abseiling Taster Session: A 90-minute adrenaline-filled session. Climb to the top of our walls and descend from two abseil platforms. Perfect for those new to climbing and abseiling, offering a double challenge in one exciting session.
Summer Climbing Camp: One-hour indoor climbing sessions with a qualified instructor, available during the summer holidays. A fun way to make friends and develop climbing skills in a friendly environment.
