Description

Livingston Skate Park is one of the UK’s most iconic skateparks, first opened in 1981 and still a popular destination today. It is a free, unsupervised concrete park that has achieved international recognition in the skateboarding community. Over the years, it has been extended and modernised, including new features in the 1990s and 2013 to keep it up to date.

The park is divided into five main sections, including double speed bowls, open circular bowls, and a huge bowled area with a mini ramp. Recent extensions added a fullpipe, pools, a square bowl, and a beginner-friendly street section. It is designed mainly for transition skaters but has something for everyone to enjoy.

The best part is that it’s completely free and open 24/7 for all visitors.

Overall, Livingston Skate Park offers a unique mix of classic and modern skating features, making it a must-visit for skateboarding enthusiasts. Its international status, spacious design, and free access make it one of the best skateparks in the UK. Whether you’re a pro or just starting out, this park promises an exciting experience worth checking out.

Features

  • The skatepark is split into 5 sections, the first of which is a double speed bowl. One part is wider and shallower and the other part is deeper and has metal coping around the edge.
  • The next section is the largest of them all and features a huge, open bowled area that is fairly deep and has another section leading off the side that is long and thin that doubles as a mini ramp with a bowled end.
  • The third section is another large section that has two open sided circular bowls on one side with a roll over between the two to join them. The rest of the skateable area here is enclosed with a bowled area and has a large pump bump in the middle.
  • The two new sections that have been recently been added are tagged onto the sides of the existing skatepark and and are both transitions based areas. The first contains a double speed bowl that are linked at their sides and are joined onto a tunnel that leads into another rectangular bowled area. The other section has a bowled area with a flat bank and also a manny pad with a ledge joined on.
  • Livingston skatepark is a fantastic facility that has stood the test of time and been updated to include some newer, modern features. It is a great place if you are a transitions skater and even if your not you should get down here and check it out for yourself.
