Features

  • Llancaiach Fawr Manor and visitor centre is a place for all occasions. The historical Manor House has been restored and furnished as it would have been in 1645. Visitors step inside to be taken on a journey back to the 17th Century. Educational visits are extremely popular with primary schools through to universities.
  • Characters you may meet…You never know just whom you might meet when you visit Llancaiach Fawr Manor. If you are lucky, you might meet the master of the house, Edward Prichard but he’s a busy man, much concerned with business and the Civil War and so he is often called away at short notice.
  • Perhaps you might catch a glimpse of Mistress Mary Prichard, his wife… although she prefers to go and visit her family and friends at Briton Ferry, rather than brave the air of the valleys, as she is a rather “sickly” soul.
  • Of course, being a devoted mother, she always takes their little daughters Jane and Mary, with her. So whom might you meet? Well, there are the servants, they are always there to greet you and make you welcome!
  • Is Llancaiach Fawr Manor haunted? Come and see for yourself! Previous residents, members of staff and many visitors can all testify to uncanny events. Our fame has spread as episodes of TV’s Most Haunted programme and John Sparkes Ghost Story have been filmed in the Manor.
