Situated in the heart of Fife, Lochore Meadows Country Park has over 1,200 acres to explore! It’s a great place to visit with a wide range of leisure and recreational activities that cater for all the family. With a beautiful loch at the heart of the park, you can enjoy spending time walking, bird-watching, cycling, fishing, paddling, playing in the playpark or enjoying a picnic or barbecue with friends and family. We even have a beach! Lochore Meadows boats an incredible variety of habitats including wildflower meadows, park land and ancient woodlands. Much of the park is suitable for wheelchairs and buggies and we also provide all terrain mobility scooters for hire to help you explore. Fishing is available throughout the year. Permits are required and can be purchased from reception at the Visitor Centre, either on the day or in advance.
Golf
Lochore Meadows Golf Course has great views across Lochore and the wooded hills, providing a tranquil setting for a challenging but relaxing game. The 9-hole surrounded by maturing trees and a stream flows through the course on occasions providing both a hazard and a taste of the wild!
Cycling
Improve your riding skills at Lochore Meadows with a variety of paths, single-track trails, a skills loop and Whitewood Bikepark. The Meedies Bike Club offer opportunities to ride with others in the park and also organises trips to other locations and trail centres.
Walking
With over 1,200 acres to explore, there are some great walking opportunities in the Park. Why not take a small stroll to the famous Pithead and back through the woodlands to the park centre, or a ramble along the nature trail to enjoy a spot of bird-watching at the bird hide? You can also walk around the loch itself or take a longer trek up to Harran Hill Woods and beyond.
Sailing
Lochore is the perfect setting for learning and improving your sailing skills. Great scenery, sheltered bays and clean water are all the ingredients for a fantastic learning experience. There are courses for kids and adults. The centre is an OnBoard sailing centre, an RYA initiative to encourage young people to try sailing for the first time and provide the opportunity to keep going in the sport.
