MiniPort Lakeside offers fun and easy electric boat hire at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock, Essex. Part of the UK’s largest electric boat hire company, established in 2011, it gives families the chance to captain their own boat on the main lake. Located along the boardwalk near the restaurants, it’s a great activity to enjoy alongside shopping and dining.
The fleet consists of fully electric boats that can carry up to five people, with no rowing or pedalling required. Children can act as “Mini Captains” as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Staff are fully trained to ensure safety, and the attraction is open daily (weather permitting), typically from 10am to 6pm on weekends and school holidays, and 1pm to 6pm midweek.
Boat hire costs £25 per boat for 30 minutes, with up to five people included in the price. In some cases, a £20 deposit may be required. There is plenty of parking available at Lakeside Shopping Centre, and arriving earlier in the day is recommended as the venue can get busy in the afternoons.
