Currently home to over 100 animals and fowl, it is London’s only Rare Breed Survival Trust Approved Conservation Farm Park. Visitors can view British rare breed animals throughout the farm’s landscape and buildings. Larger animals graze in outer enclosures and fields, while smaller and more cuddly animals are located near the main courtyard in ‘Pets Corner’. The Mudchute Rare Breeds and Visitor Booklet is available for download. Please note that most animals go to bed at around 3pm in winter and 4pm in summer.
  • Adopt an Animal: Adoption opportunities are available to support the farm’s rare breed conservation efforts. Specific animals such as Dexter Cattle and pigs can be adopted, contributing to their care and conservation. To see animals visit https://www.mudchute.org/farm-animals

Minimum ages are 5 for small animals and 10 for medium animals like sheep and goats. A minimum of one adult is required in each group. Friendly small animals are brought to venues by farm staff, offering guests the chance to learn about them and interact up close by stroking their fur or feathers.

The breeds at Mudchute tell a story about farms, food production, and rural life, providing an important educational experience for children and visitors alike.
  • Wildlife: In addition to domestic livestock and pets, Mudchute is home to diverse plants and wildlife across 32 acres. Habitats include wetlands, woodlands, open meadows, and field margins.
