Description

Welcome to The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum is a volunteer-led museum located at Lakeside in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. It occupies the former site of the Royal Air Force Station, RAF Doncaster.

Museum is home to a vast collection from the very first steps into flight, right up to modern jet aircraft, and everything in between! The SYAS continued to display and maintain a small collection of aviation related artefacts in a small display area until 1981, when an ideal opportunity arose for the collection to be moved and displayed at Home Farm near Maltby, on the site of the former RAF Firbeck.

By Car: From Doncaster:Exit the A638 (Bawtry Road) at the ASDA/Doncaster Dome junction, and follow the brown signs for 'Air Museum'. From M18:Exit at Junction 3 of the M18 and follow the brown signs for 'Lakeside' and 'Lakeside North'. Once within the Lakeside North area, follow the 'Air Museum' brown signs.
By Public Transport: First Bus Doncaster Routes 355, 357 and 358 from the Doncaster Interchange can be taken to the Doncaster Dome/ASDA, and the museum is approximately a 10 minute walk from the bus stop.
By Air: The museum is able to handle helicopter visits on a strict PPR basis. To organise, please call 01302 761616 at least 48 hours before your planned visit.
Parking: We have a large on-site car park, which is free for visitors to use for the duration of their visit. We also have disabled parking close to the museum entrance. On some of our event days, we may use car parking marshals in order to maximise the number of available spaces. Please follow their instructions to ensure that all visitors can park safely.
