Pottery Painting: Choose from pottery mugs, jugs and plates or one of our money boxes, fun characters, plates and plaques, egg cups, vases bowls and teapots – you are sure to find a piece of pottery you will love to paint! See the gallery below for a small selection of inspiration. Splash of Colour offer a wide range of pottery for you to paint ranging from just £2 upto £35.
Potter’s Wheel: Splash of Colour offer taster sessions on our Potters Wheel – great fun and just a little bit messy! You will have 1 to 1 tuition from one of our experienced staff. They will demonstrate the basics for getting your clay positioned on the wheel and the techniques for making a pot. Whilst waiting for your turn on the wheel you will have a 6 inch tile to paint with ceramic paints. This will be glazed and fired for you.
Mosaics: Splash of Colour has all the materials for you to create your own mosaic – beautiful ceramic and glass tiles, a choice of two board sizes and any other tools you will need to make your mosaic. We have stencils to help with design ideas and will give you guidance on how to get the best results. Once you have finished your mosaic you leave it with us for grouting – pick it up 12 days later.
Baby Prints: Splash of Colour offer a variety of ways to do this, baby hand and footprints painted on pottery, handprints and footprints in clay – some methods depend on the age of your little one. We can guide you as to the ways to get the best results. You simply choose the pottery you wish to place hand or foot prints on. Then you choose your colour – stronger paint colours give a better print.

Birthday Party Details

Our Party Package (minimum of 6 children) includes the studio fee (paints, glazing and firing) and a piece of pottery from the carefully selected Party Shelves – we include items such as mugs, bowls, plates, figurines and seasonal stock when appropriate.

We have a great selection of different pottery for you to choose from on the Party Shelves. You will have all the materials you need – brushes, paints, sponges, stencils and Funwriters are all available for your use. Once the pottery pieces are chosen you will be given a run through on how to get the best results with your painting. Then you leave it with us for glazing and firing and collect 12 days later. You are welcome to bring a Birthday Cake for the party celebrations.
