Features

  • Gilnockie Tower: Part of the Armstrong Family for generations. And a wee while away from the Yorkshire Dales. Gilnockie Tower was reputedly used on occasions as the headquarters, a meeting place where the resident Border Reivers and their collaborators planned and executed gainful raids within national locale of the Anglo-Scottish Border. An inclusive and extremely dangerous part of day-to-day life in the Esk Valley.
  • Our Gardens: Team Green has really taken our gardens to a new level. We have invested a great deal of time and effort to ensure the enjoyment of Tupgill Park in all its glory. Mother Nature is Always around the Corner at The Forbidden Corner.
  • School Educational Resource Packs: We welcome many school and educational trips to our park every year and we love to see students exploring, learning and having fun whilst with us. In addition to exploring our attraction we have created some fun resource packs to give students activities to complete before, during or after their visit.
  • The Gift Shop: The Forbidden Corner gift shop has a huge selection of traditional and unusual gifts and mementos from your strange day out at the Forbidden Corner.

Facilities

  • Parking: We have free coach and car parking available on site.
  • Food & Drinks: The Forbidden Corner Café offers a selection of grab-and-go meals, including pies, sandwiches, and wraps. You can also order freshly cooked meals from our kitchen, including burgers and chips, as well as Yorkshire pudding and jacket potatoes.
  • Toilets: We have toilet facilities adjacent to the car and coach parking bays, which are accessible for people with disabilities. In our main visitor centre, there are toilets at the entrance and also in our café. There are toilets at the further part of the attraction and near the play area.

What to see

Events:

  • Easter: Unleash the Magic: The Great Dragon Egg Quest! Something mystical is stirring in the gardens this season and we need brave explorers and aspiring sorcerers of all ages to join us for an enchanting outdoor adventure that culminates in a moment of pure wizardry.
  • Festive Fantasies: Christmas has just passed, but we are already planning next Christmas! We have some magical ideas! We will be open weekends in December with our usual Santa’s grotto, but we want to make the whole experience bigger and better! More info coming soon.
