The Roundhouse is one of Birmingham's most distinctive buildings. Built in 1874 by the Birmingham Corporation it was originally used as a stables and stores. Designed by architect W.H.Ward, the distinctive horseshoe shaped building is a curious survivor of Birmingham's victorian past.

Thanks to National Lottery players and the support of National Lottery Heritage Fund, as well as a grant from Historic England, the National Trust and Canal & River Trust have given the Grade ll* listed building a new life. At the heart of Birmingham's canals, the now renovated site has been given new purpose as office space and home to a much-loved Italian restaurant.
