School transport is available for girls in Year 3 or above. Our extensive school bus network consists of over 50 bus stops from Greenwich, Blackheath, Woolwich, Crystal Palace, Shirley and Sevenoaks. A shuttle service is also available between Bickley railway station and Bromley High School, and our school buses also stop at many other railway stations including Orpington, Chislehurst and Farnborough Park.

Selective
Entry to Bromley High School is competitive, therefore early applications are recommended.
Once the closing date has passed, all those who apply will be invited for assessment. Key admissions dates vary depending on whether you are applying to the Junior School (Reception and Year 3) the Senior School (Year 7) or our Sixth Form (Year 12).
Those who are successful in the selection process will be made an offer. Selection is based upon academic merit but also on our assessment of whether a pupil will flourish within our community.
Junior Admissions
The main entry points to the Junior School are Reception (4+) and Year 3 (7+).

Assessment - For entry into Reception, we start with a large group session on a Saturday morning held in a nursery style environment within our Reception classrooms and led by our Reception and KS1 team of teachers and assistants. Parents meet with the Junior Leadership in the hall and have the opportunity to tour the school.
Friendly, informal small group assessments, led by our Reception teachers, are held in the week after the Saturday session. The assessment is presented in a games format, covering language and social skills, number, physical and creative skills. During this assessment, parents meet with Mrs Dickerson, Head of the Junior School.
7 + Entry : 8 Places
The majority of our girls progress internally from Year 2 to Year 3, however we admit approximately 8 external applicants to join Year 3.

Senior School Admissions - Additional 60 places
Entry to the Senior School is in Year 7 (11+). The Senior School is a four form entry so, although more than 40% of pupils come from our two form Junior School, the majority of girls entering the Senior School are new girls joining us from a wide range of feeder prep and primary schools.

Entrance: The Entrance Examination will consist of tests which are non-subject specific and which test a pupil’s academic potential. They cover verbal, non-verbal, spatial and quantitative reasoning skills. Alongside these standardised tests, girls sit a short creative writing paper and a brief mathematics extension exercise. During the morning your daughter will also be involved in some team and problem-solving activities.
Reference: A reference will be requested from the Headteacher of your daughter’s current school.
Interviews: All applicants are invited to interview with the Headmistress or one of the Deputy Headteachers in the Autumn Term. This interview is an opportunity to learn more about your daughter, her academic interests and talents, and is not a formal part of the academic selection process.
Sixth Form Entry
We offer places to external applicants to the Sixth Form subject to GCSE exam results, school reference and interview.

The termly charge for school lunches are an additional cost of £281.17 School lunches are compulsory for all pupils from Reception to Year 11. In the Sixth Form, school lunches remain optional.
Our scholarships are awarded to recognise talent and nurture progress.
In the Senior School (11+) and Sixth Form (16+) we offer Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport scholarships. Awards are made without regard to parental income.
