Tickets need to be booked beforehand online or by visiting our information desks in Hintze Hall and the Red Zone.

1. Family Discovery Zone -   10-18 February  -  11.00-16.00 - FREE - Jerwood Gallery in the Blue Zone.

Come and explore the variety of homes and habitats that exist on our planet as well as the impact we have on them. Discover the extreme and surprising places life finds a home through our fun creative activities and science shows.

Suitable for all ages. Children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

 

2.  Spirit Collection Tour

Take a peek behind the scenes and marvel at our fascinating collection of zoology specimens preserved in spirit. Our Darwin Centre has 27 kilometres of shelves packed with 22 million specimens – we can’t wait to show you all the treasures hidden there.

3.  Museum Highlights Tour

Discover the most iconic specimens we care for, from the world’s most complete fossil stegosaur to an infamous gorilla. Don’t miss your chance to get to know our best of the best.

4.  Secrets of the Natural History Museum

Join us for a look at the fascinating stories hidden within the architecture of our iconic building, including a monkey with a human face that looks a lot like Charles Darwin. Starting our story in the late 1800s, we’ll delve into detailed drawings and plans for the building, before exploring our twenty-first-century additions.

5. LEGO® Build the Change Nature-friendly neighbourhood build - FREE

Welcoming all builders of the future! Help build a neighbourhood from LEGO bricks that birds and people can all call home together.

12-16 February - 11.00-16.00  - Entry every 30 minutes.

First-come, first-served. You may have to queue.

Suitable for ages 6+. Children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Investigate Centre in the Green Zone on the Lower Ground Floor.

 

6. Jurassic Encounters

Delve into the Jurassic era and meet the modern-day relatives of the animals that lived alongside dinosaurs in this fantastic animal handling show.

7.  T. Rex show with Teach Rex

Calling all dinosaur fans! Join us at our T. Rex show with Teach Rex. The show delves into the jaws of this iconic animal, taking you on an interactive, prehistoric journey.

8. Science of the NHM tour

Nothing is more important to us than protecting the planet and encouraging others to do the same. Join us on this tour to discover the work we do, from advocacy and outreach to identifying new species and protecting the collections we care for.
