Bishop Vaughan Catholic School is a State Secondary School for kids aged 11 to 18 (Gender - Mixed)

They place emphasis on high standards in all areas of school life, with the expectation that learners are prepared to give of their best academically, to engage in the rich offering of extra-curricular activities where possible and to reflect the values that bind them as a community in their dealings with one another. They are delighted that parents – with whom they aim to foster effective home-school links – and visitors to the school comment upon the welcoming, polite and courteous nature of the pupils; is an inclusive community founded upon respect. They consider this an important part of the role in nurturing individuals that are able to make valuable contributions as responsible, compassionate members of society. Bishop Vaughan’s Governors and staff are committed to the provision of an inclusive, Christian education for all of the pupils in accordance with the principles and teachings of the Catholic faith. The learning experiences of students are tailored to embrace the various aspects of a broad education: academic, emotional, cultural, physical, social, moral and spiritual. In essence we set ourselves the task of helping our young people to get the most out of their lives and of becoming the best that they can be.

Facilities

LEARNING ZONE
The Learning Zone runs daily from 3.00 - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and is a free after-school learning and tuition centre situated in school. Staffed by teachers and Learning Support assistants, your child will be able to complete homework with specialist support, receive help with areas of learning with which they experience difficulty, develop independent learning and revision skills, as well as access IT provision. Two merit points are awarded for every session attended!

GO EXTRA
"Go Extra" at Bishop Vaughan is our bespoke loyalty card scheme. The aim is to promote and encourage pupils to get involved, join clubs and have some fun. Pupils will receive a "Go Extra" card and points/a stamp for activities attended each half term. Completed cards will then be entered in the prize draw with awards for different categories including: Try something new, Most dedicated, Pupil leader / ambassador, Most enthusiastic
