Bristol Cathedral Choir School is leading State Secondary school in Bristol. This is a Non-selective school for kids age 11 to 18 years. Gender - Mixed

At Bristol Cathedral Choir School (BCCS) we take this responsibility extremely seriously. We care about the individual and pride ourselves on the warmth of a community in which all our pupils feel valued and are supported.

Curriculum
The curriculum intention is to provide a broad, balanced and knowledge-rich education for all learners; the learning vision of ‘engagement, progress and enjoyment in every lesson for every learner’ is rooted in a desire to bring out the best in all students and prepare them for success in life. We see a powerful knowledge-rich curriculum as one which takes our students beyond their own experience and as a true lever for social equality and development. Whilst we cannot know the future, we believe the broad curriculum for all, and balanced for the individual provides students with the knowledge, skills, social and cultural capital to thrive in a global society. Our curriculum is designed by specialist leaders for our culturally diverse and significantly able student population. We aim to maximise our students’ cognitive development, to develop the whole person and the talents of the individual so that BCCS students become active and happy participants of society.

Sixth Form
They offer more than 20 A-levels, providing students with a broad and balanced menu to choose from. Economics, Sociology, German and Spanish (online) have all been added in recent years with excellent results. Students typically take three A levels, with many choosing to do the Extended Project Qualification alongside their studies.

Library
At Bristol Cathedral Choir School, they encourage all of the students to read for pleasure and make use of the library materials. The book stock (fiction and non-fiction) is chosen by qualified, professional librarians who seek to purchase books that reflect the interests and needs of the student population.
