There is a 9 hole golf course within the grounds and Canford boasts one of only two Real Tennis courts currently in schools in the UK.
The Layard Theatre, opened in 1998, is a fully equipped, modern theatre providing a venue for a wide range of professional entertainment including top quality Drama, Music and Dance.

The library aims to support the curriculum and promote reading. It houses 12,000 books and 750 DVDs. The library catalogue is centrally networked and resources are indexed to provide easy access to the material available. The library catalogue also contains all useful material from departmental libraries as well as 6,000 selected website links. Allowance is made for 10% replacement of stock each year, so that it is kept up-to-date and in good condition.
The main points for entry to Canford are at 13+ and 16+. There is also the possibility of 14+ entry if space is available and if test results and the school report indicate that a pupil is able to embark successfully on a two-year GCSE/IGCSE programme.
