Fairfield Prep School is Independent Primary school in Leicestershire for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )
Fairfield Prep is definitely so much more than simply a school. The distinct family ethos ensures that we give every child the care and attention that we desire for our own children. We work on the philosophy of tiny feet making huge strides, so that when a child leaves Fairfield at the end of Year 6, they do so as happy, confident and fully independent learners. They appreciate that choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll make and the staff and I look forward to meeting you and having the opportunity to show you and your children our wonderful School in action.
Pre Prep
At Fairfield, they embrace the traditions and values of Independent Education, whilst choosing to develop the best of new initiatives and ideas that will shape your child for life in the 21st Century. Fairfield offers a friendly, caring community, where children learn to be confident whilst developing a thirst for knowledge and enquiry. The Pre-Prep department (3-7 years of age) feeds directly into the Upper Prep department. Fairfield is a select entry school on the outskirts of Loughborough and the vast majority of children progress to either Loughborough Grammar School (boys), Loughborough High School (girls) or Loughborough Amherst School (Co-ed) with all four schools as part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation on one extensive site.
Upper prep
The Upper Prep School day is very similar to that of the Pre-Prep with a morning assembly, five periods before lunch, three periods in the afternoon and ‘home time’ at 3.40 p.m. Most of the children enjoy the extended curriculum, taking part in the many before-school, lunch-time and after-school activities such as small Music Ensembles, Dance, Drama, Science and Maths Club as well as a wide variety of Sports Clubs, to name but a few.At Fairfield, we embrace the traditions and values of Independent Education, whilst choosing to develop the best of new initiatives and ideas that will shape your child for life in the 21st Century. Kindergarten
Located within the secure environment of Pre-Prep, Kindergarten comprises two classrooms which encourage ‘free-flow’ learning in a space which flows from indoors to an exciting and stimulating outdoor play area, designed to encourage curiosity, develop early motor skills and engage children in their learning. There’s an amazing, interactive ‘White Room’ too, which uses the very latest cinema standard projection onto floors, wall and ceiling to create a truly engaging, sensory learning experience.
Drama
Fairfield also provides lunchtime and after school LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) tuition for children who request it. All sessions are taught by a fully qualified LAMDA professional. Children who attend weekly LAMDA lessons are offered the opportunity to enter LAMDA exams at the end of the summer term. These are nationally recognised qualifications and are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in England.
Music
Loughborough Schools Music is a place of exceptional individual and collaborative efforts where everyone is invited to contribute. There are over 100 annual performance opportunities, 50+ ensembles, 10+ choirs and 7 orchestras. That is in addition to our junior and senior lunchtime recitals, assemblies and house music competitions.
Sports
The shared sports facilities are excellent and allow for the provision of a wide variety of sports. The Foundation is always looking to develop and improve the facilities and the introduction of the Grant Sutcliffe Astro turf and the Parkin Sports Hall in 2019, are testament to this. The Foundation is increasing the variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities and we hope that this in turn will increase the number of pupils across the Foundation playing representative sport.
