Keresley College is an independent day school for students aged between 14 and 16 years experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
At the core of the Safe School lies the provision of excellent learning opportunities within a positive and ethically based ethos, which provides a safe learning culture for all students. Within this ethos young people feel increasingly eager to engage in the stimulating and exciting learning experience which the Safe School provides.
The school offers places for students referred through Warwickshire LEA’s Alternative Provision Program, Looked after Children (LAC) and day students from Warwickshire Schools..
The majority of students arrive at the college having experienced significant trauma and difficulties which have impacted on previous placements and frequently led to multiple placement breakdowns, as a result, students often arrive with significant gaps in their learning and attainment. Upon entry, many pupils are operating at lower levels than the national expectation for their key stage groups. The college places a high emphasis on students’ personal development in addition to their academic progress.
Selection Criteria: Selective
The aim of this policy is to clearly explain how students are admitted into Keresley College. This will include the route from initial referral through to a student starting their place with us.
