It is a very special school that must be seen to be fully appreciated.  The individual development of the students is a personal journey where they have every chance possible to succeed and flourish. The ethos of Be The Best You Can Be is built upon three distinct strands which are woven into every aspect of life at St Martin’s: Traditional Values, Learning For The Future and Outstanding Personal Achievement.Opportunities to learn and enjoy beyond the classroom are endless through a huge variety of extra-curricular clubs, educational trips and many varied student leadership opportunities.  It is important that St Martin’s is at the centre of the community and working closely with parents they ensure that our students are proud to come to St Martin’s and make excellent progress.

Curriculum
The whole school curriculum is designed to ensure our students make excellent progress and are proud to come to St Martin’s.  The knowledge rich curriculum is designed to ensure students enjoy a wide range of subjects and experiences.  They provide an accessible, enjoyable and rich educational experience that is academically ambitious for all students to ensure academic success and develops life-long skills. “THRIVE” symbolises the personal skills and attributes we develop in our students throughout their time at St Martin’s so that they truly can Be The Best They Can Be.  THRIVE is delivered in all areas of the curriculum so that our students are acutely aware of the need for not only outstanding personal achievement, but core skills that will enable them to learn for the future, choose their own path and make a positive difference in the world.

KS5 Curriculum
Whatever subjects are being studied in the Sixth Form, students will find that they will have to adapt to new ways of working. All post-16 courses involve a great deal more time, independence and organisation than the work done at GCSE.They will find that staff treat them differently and that the approach within the classroom will be more interactive with students being expected to contribute to, and to lead, the learning process. The rest of the course requires students to work independently through private study.
