Springhill Catholic Primary School is an Academy school of the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth. It caters for children aged 4+ to 11 years and has three classes in each year group. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 30 pupils in Foundation stage and KS1 and to 32 in KS2.

Facilities

MUSIC: They enjoy an excellent musical tradition and there are many opportunities for children to take part in musical activities both inside and outside of the classroom. They have a school choir and, quite exceptionally in a primary school, they have their own school orchestra. From the earliest years children are encouraged to take part in and enjoy musical activities, leading to children achieving very high standards by the time they leave Springhill. The school offers musical instrument tuition in brass, strings, woodwind, keyboard and percussion, taught by specialist teachers. Children share their music with the community in outside performances, and musical productions within the school.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: A variety of extracurricular activities take place throughout the school year, adding to the life of the school and the development of self-esteem of pupils. These include chargeable after school sport, art, dance and music clubs as well as the school choir and orchestra. The school also takes part in various sporting events and competitions with other schools. A charge is made for residential field trips, instrumental tuition and some after school clubs. You may also be asked from time to time to make a “voluntary contribution” towards the cost of a school visit

EARLY MORNING AND AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS: A breakfast club and after-school club provide first-class child-care daily on school days. The breakfast club is open from 7.45 a.m. until 8.40 a.m. and the after-school club from 3.15 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. There is a charge for these clubs, details of which may be obtained from the school office..
