Description
St Paul’s is an independent school offering an outstanding, all-round education for boys aged 7 to 18 years. St Pauls Junior School acts as a mjor feeder to the Senior School.
Facilities
Pupils at St Paul’s Juniors have access to extensive and well-equipped sports facilities. The School boasts over 45 acres of playing fields, a 25-metre indoor pool, six fives courts, three squash courts, a dojo, a fencing salle and a rackets court. The pupils also have access to a 3G football and rugby pitch and Multi Use Sports Area (MUGA), six all-weather cricket nets and two indoor sports halls.
Sports
- Pupils have the opportunity to explore a huge range of activities through PE, Games and co-curricular programme including rugby, football, cricket, tennis, cross country, athletics, squash, badminton, tag American football, volleyball, unihoc, handball, basketball, aikido, fives, swimming and water polo.
- St Paul’s Juniors has been named one of the top 50 junior and prep schools for cricket in The Cricketer Schools Guide 2020.
- Each year, pupils take lessons in gymnastics, swimming, fitness and athletics. They also experience indoor games including bench ball, rackets, badminton, volleyball, dodgeball, unihoc, fives and squash.
- St Paul’s Juniors ensures that every pupil participates and with over 200 rugby, 150 football and 140 cricket fixtures each year, there is competitive sport available to those of all abilities. The number of fixtures within a season increases as the pupils move through the school, with a strong focus in the lower years on teaching and coaching the basic skills needed for each sport.
- There are tennis squads and fixtures in the Lower Second Year and above and swimming squads in every year group. From the Upper Second Year onwards there are teams for rugby sevens, athletics and cross-country. Pupils can also represent the school at badminton, water polo, basketball, squash, aikido, skiing and fencing.
Art, Drama, Music
- Art Club is held most days during lunchtimes, and provides a valuable space where pupils can continue with class projects or develop their own individual programme of work – using a range of 2D and 3D materials.
- The extent of clubs and activities on offer covers everything from backstage lighting, sound and design, through to graded Trinity and LAMDA Drama examinations. We offer improvisation clubs, a whole school talent show, monologues competitions, coeducational holiday camps and a large Youth Theatre which is open to the local community.
- The School provides a comprehensive, challenging and exciting musical education to all pupils, catering for all ranges of ability, from those taking music lessons for the first time to those who show exceptional talent.

Progress to the whole of St Pauls (Senior School) depends on the pupil's ongoing good work and conduct. There is no particular exam that he must pass.

Our entry points are at 7+, 8+, 11+, 13+ and 16+ and admission is following a successful examination process and interview.
7+ Entry : Places: 54 boys
- Candidates will be invited to sit tests in English, Mathematics and Reasoning
- From this year, we will be changing the English task from a creative writing paper to a dictation
- The Mathematics and Reasoning tasks will remain similar to previous years, with the Reasoning tasks being weighted according to age.
Suggested Readings:
Boys who perform well in the written tests will be invited back for a half-day group assessment. Group sizes will be approximately 10. This process will involve a Maths lesson, an English lesson and group problem-solving task.

11+ Entry : Place 36 Boys
- All Year 6 11+ candidates are required to take the ISEB online pre-test. They will be entered for this test by us and can sit the test here at St Paul’s.
- Those 11+ candidates who are successful in the ISEB pre-test are invited back to sit written examinations in English and Mathematics in January.
- If your son performs well in the written exams, he will be invited back for interview

7+ & 8+ Entry | A registration fee of £175 is payable when registering your son for 7+ and 8+ entry to St Paul’s Juniors |
11+ Entry | A £50 examination fee is payable when registering your son for 11+ entry to St Paul’s Juniors and £125 plus the deposit is paid by successful candidates when accepting a place |

Scholarships
Music Scholarships:
- A number of music scholarships and exhibitions are offered at 11+ and 13+ to pupils who show outstanding potential in at least one instrument.
- Each Scholarship is worth £60 per annum, plus free tuition on two instruments. Exhibitions consist of free tuition on one instrument only.
Bursaries
Each year there are funds available for free and subsidised places at all entry points. As with all other entrants, pupils hoping to benefit from a bursary must gain a place at the school on academic merit.
