Admission Details

Step 1 – School Visit: If you are considering joining Stover, the first step is to come and see. They will arrange a visit to the School which will include a tour and a meeting with the Headmaster, Mr Notman or the Head of the Preparatory School, Mr Noble.

Step 2 – Taster: Tasters are an opportunity for prospective pupils to experience a day with their peers, to put them at ease and give them a feel for life at Stover. Taster day assessments are considered alongside your child’s current school report before an offer of a place is made. A single day is normally sufficient although tasters of up to a week can be arranged. If you are considering boarding they can also offer a sleepover to get a real feel for the family atmosphere we have at Stover. The aim of the admissions process is to identify potential. Stover School seeks to admit well rounded pupils with a genuine interest in education in the broadest sense of the word, with interests that stretch beyond the confines of the academic curriculum.

Step 3 – Registration: To enter the School we require a completed Registration form, recent school reports, copy of either a birth certificate or passport and a non-refundable Registration Fee of £100. Applications can be received throughout the year.

Step 4 – Offer of a Place: Once your application has been approved, they will write to you confirming your child’s place and their start date. They request a refundable deposit of £250 (day), £750 (boarder) and that the Acceptance of Parent Contract forms be completed and returned prior to your child starting at Stover. Once your place has been accepted a welcome pack containing more information and various consent forms will be sent out shortly before the start date, required back before the first day of school.

Step 5 – Starting at the School: Subject to a place being available, start dates can be arranged at a time to suit your family although most pupils join at the beginning of a term. They will be happy to arrange a suitable appointment for you to purchase your uniform from the school shop prior to this date.
