Description
Avonvale Miniature Railway is a volunteer-run miniature railway attraction located at Hillers Farm Shop in Dunnington, near Alcester. It offers a charming outdoor train ride experience that is enjoyable for children and adults alike. The railway has been running since 2001 and provides relaxed family fun in a scenic setting.
The attraction features a fully signalled 1/3-mile dual-gauge railway (5 and 7¼ inch) with a station, signal box, tunnel, bridges, and two platforms. Children will enjoy spotting the resident animal figures including Edgar the Elephant and Dexter the Dinosaur along the route. Special themed events are held throughout the year, including Easter Specials, Halloween night rides, and Christmas train rides, with decorations and characters.
Train rides are priced at £1.00 per ride, making it an affordable activity for families. Birthday parties are available on running weekends during the season, with details provided via email or social media.

Avonvale Miniature Railway has been running a dual gauge 5 and 7 1/4 inch railway at Hillers Farm Shop since 2001. Staffed and maintained by volunteers, the fully signalled 1/3 mile long scenic railway features a signal box, bridges, two platforms, a tunnel and a station. Look out for our resident animal collection including, Edgar the Elephant and Dexter the Dinosaur.
Special Events
- Easter Special: Over the Easter weekend, come and enjoy a train ride and Easter activities. See if you can spot the Easter bunny and count how many Easter eggs you can see!
- Halloween Special: Join us for spooky train rides when we run into the night at Halloween. We run from 3pm until 8pm. We invite all passengers to dress up for the occasion. The track is decorated with ghosts and ghouls. You may even find a skeleton driving your train!
- Christmas Special: Our Christmas special is the final running weekend of the Avonvale year. Come and enjoy our Christmas train rides which run from 2pm until 6pm. Enjoy our many Christmas decorations and lights. You may be lucky and find the Grinch driving your train.
