The Bank of England Museum, located within the Bank of England in the City of London, is home to a collection of diverse items relating to the history of the Bank and the UK economy from the Bank's foundation in 1694 to the present day. 

The Museum offers a unique selection of displays and exhibits, covering the institution's role in maintaining monetary and financial stability through to our banknote gallery and gold vaults. You can visit our temporary exhibition 'Building the Bank', covering the architectural story of the Bank's iconic Threadneedle Street site.

  • Parking: There are no disabled parking places near the museum. Drivers and coach operators who drop off or pick up passengers on the double yellow lines on Bartholomew Lane do so at their own risk.
  • Food & Drinks: We don't have a cafe but there are places to buy drinks or sandwiches nearby. Eating and drinking are not allowed in the museum. 
  • Toilets: We have an accessible toilet. But it does not have a hoist.
