Situated in the small village of Gaydon, Warwickshire, just off junction 12 of the M40. The Museum building is a spectacular piece of architecture with an art deco design, whilst the Collections Centre building is a modern contrast.

The Museum: The family-friendly Museum offers a colourful insight into the British motor industry – from the popular ‘Time Road’ to the ‘Under the Skin’ interactive zone, adults and children alike will find displays and exhibits to surprise and enlighten. It Museum tells the story of the birth, decline and rebirth of the motor industry and the cars it produced, as well as celebrating the skills and creativity of the people who designed and built them.

Collections: The Museum and Collections Centre at the British Motor Museum house the collections of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust which cares for the largest collection of historic British cars in the world, along with an archive containing more than one million objects, from photographs and film, to publicity material and technical records.Together this historic material tells the story of the British motor car, and the industry that has produced them, for more than a century as well as giving a unique snapshot of British social life in those years. By Road: The British Motor Museum is five minutes from Junction 12 of the M40, on the B4100 near the village of Gaydon. It is signed locally with brown Motor Museum road signs.

Travelling by car: Exit the M40 at Junction 12 and turn left, following the brown Motor Museum signs. Continue for approximately 1 mile and the entrance to the British Motor Museum is on your left. If using a Sat Nav for directions we recommend you enter the British Motor Museum as a point of interest rather than using the postcode.The Museum has free and ample parking for its Museum visitors. 

Cycling: If you're travelling from out of the area, the nearest rail stations are Leamington Spa & Banbury. If you're planning to cycle from nearby, plan your route using the Cycle Streets website here. The British Motor Museum has a bike park on the gravel parking area around the back of the main Museum building. 

By Rail: The nearest mainline rail stations are at Warwick (8 miles), Leamington Spa (8 miles) and Banbury (11 miles). Taxi services are available to and from the station, or you can pre-book with recommended supplier White House Cars – call 07854 028461.

By Bus: The regular bus service which visits the British Motor Museum operates between Leamington Spa and Fenny Compton - local bus route (no. 77). For an up-to-date timetable visit the  Johnsons website. Monday to Friday there is an additional Stagecoach service that operates from Kenilworth, via Leamington Spa to the Museum (no. X77 and X17, these are advertised on the Stagecoach timetable as buses to JLR Gaydon). For an up-to-date timetable visit the  Stagecoach website.  

By Air: Birmingham International Airport is approximately a 30-minute car/taxi journey.
