Bunratty Folk Park: Set on 26 acres of unspoilt Clare countryside. Bunratty Folk Park features over 30 buildings in a ‘living’ village and rural setting. Rural farmhouses, village shops and streets are recreated and furnished as they would have appeared at that time according to their social standing, from the poorest one roomed dwelling to Bunratty House a fine example of a Georgian residence built 1804 home of the Studdarts, the last family to occupy Bunratty Castle.
Medieval Collection: Finest collection of medieval furniture in the country. Bunratty Castle was in ruins in the mid 20th century and was in danger of being demolished for stone. Viscount Gort, a mediaevalist bought the castle in 1953 for a nominal sum, saving it for posterity. Encouraged by a small group of individuals, including the archaeologist John Hunt, they set about returning the castle to its former splendour. Lord and Lady Gort had always been deeply interested in early furniture and works of art.

Facilities

Parking: There is a carpark at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park located adjacent to the entrance. The carpark is free of charge.
Food & Drinks: Mr O'Regans Cafe, located in the admissions building and the Bunratty Tea Rooms (seasonal) and Corn Barn Restaurant (seasonal), located within the park, all serve a selection of hot and cold snacks, sweet treats and hot and cold beverages.
