Visitor Centre: The first phase of our brand new Visitor Experience is here! We want to welcome you to our new and improved visitor experience. Our creative team of in-house staff have been working tirelessly for the last six months to make something quite special, something that is both a leisure experience as well as being a lasting archive of some of the wonderful craftmanship of its North Devon’s glass makers.
Factory Experience: The factory experience invites you into our process of turning glass into handcrafted luxury items and the opportunity to watch the skilled craftsmen and women bring our designs to life. The blowing room, also known as “the hot end”, is the heart of the factory and is where our glass and homeware items begin to take shape. Watch years of experience come into play as our staff work on the factory floor below you.
The Teddy Factory: The Teddy Factory at Dartington Crystal visitor centre offers a delightful interactive experience for the little ones or big ones alike! In this workshop, visitors can embark on a journey of creativity by crafting their very own plush companions. This unique, immersive experience allows shoppers to be part of every step in creating their one-of-a-kind furry friend, resulting in a treasured memento of their visit to Dartington Crystal.
Handcasting: Have your child’s hand or footprint cast forever in glass which can also be personalised with the name or date. We can even cast your pet’s paw! The perfect gift or souvenir.
Glass Painting: Get creative, children and adults can join in the fun together by painting glasses as a souvenir of their visit in our brand new, vibrant activities area. A fun activity that is perfect for the family and groups of all ages.
Engraving and Glass Demonstrations: View special glass making demonstrations from the new studio furnace as well as watching our master engraver hard at work producing unique works of art.
