Capture the White Kite: A rare white leucistic Red Kite, one of only about 10 in the world, can occasionally be seen feeding at Gigrin Farm, offering a unique wildlife experience.
Red Kite Feeding: Wild Red Kites are fed daily at 2pm GMT (3pm from late March to October). Five hides, three with disabled access, allow close-up views for photography. Kites swoop and compete with buzzards, ravens, and crows in dramatic feeding displays. Numbers vary from 300–600 depending on season and weather. Fewer birds offer better photo opportunities as they linger near the hides.
The Red Kite: Red Kites (Milvus milvus) are chestnut red with white wing patches and pale grey heads. Their 1.8m wingspan, sharp hooked beak, and bright yellow legs make them agile hunters, often feeding on scraps left by other predators. They are generally silent when hunting but vocal during feeding.
