Puffin Cruises is a family run business offering boat trips from Amble Harbour to Coquet Island. Operating for over 40 years, it provides visitors with a chance to explore the rich wildlife just off the Northumberland coast. Each cruise lasts approximately one hour, taking passengers out to open waters near the island before returning to the harbour.

Coquet Island is home to around 40,000 nesting sea birds including Puffins, rare Roseate Terns, Sandwich Tern, Common Tern, Artic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider ducks during the summer months. A Grey Seal colony can also be seen on the east side of the island all year round. Visitors can enjoy the wildlife from one of the two vessels and browse Puffin gifts such as mugs, plates, hats and hoodies in the harbour pod.

Prices are Adult (1 Hour Child Puffin Trip): £20.00, Child (1 Hour Child Puffin Trip): £15.00 (Under 3’s sail FREE)

Welcome to Dave Gray’s Puffin Cruises, a family run business operating boat trips out to Coquet Island, sailing from the dock steps at Amble harbour for over 40 years.
Join us for a Puffin Cruise to Coquet Island. We operate on an hour trip window, so we leave then head out to open waters near the island then return back in approximatly 1 hours time.
A sea bird paradise situated about a mile from Amble harbour, the island is the home to 40,000 nesting sea birds such as; Puffins, rare Roseate Terns, Sandwich Tern, Common Tern, Artic Terns, Kittiwakes and Eider ducks which all nest here in the summer months.
Also a Grey Seal colony which stays at the island all year round is seen on the east side of the island. The islands rich marine life can be viewed aboard our two vessels. Inside our Pod you will find a vast variety of Puffin Gifts, from Mugs, to Plates to Hats to Hoodies.
We are sure you will find something to remember your trip with us. We have a handful of hand picked gifts listed on our online shop, but there are more inside the Pod. You can also order via the website and collect the same day to secure your items.
