Radstock Museum (Somerset Coalfield Life) in North East Somerset is an award-winning museum celebrating the heritage of the Somerset Coalfield and Victorian life. Located in a former Victorian market hall, it features reconstructed coal mines, a miner's cottage, a Victorian schoolroom, and exhibits on local geology, railways, and industries.

Visit the Museum during the Easter Holiday for our ‘Pairs’ Easter trail. Come and search the Museum for the things that belong together. Find them all and you can claim a small prize.

Price starts from £7.00 for Adults(18 years and over), £3.00 for Children(6-15 & under 5s free) and £17.00 for Family(1 Adults and up to 3 children).   • Come and explore Somerset’s coalfield heritage: We invite you to step back in time and imagine what life would have been like in the Radstock area. Find out how society has changed since Victorian times. See how industry has shaped our area and how technology has developed and changed over time.
  • Activities for Children at Radstock Museum: Visit the Museum during the Easter Holiday for our ‘Pairs’ Easter trail. Come and search the Museum for the things that belong together. Find them all and you can claim a small prize.
  • Exhibition: An exhibition on the Somersetshire Coal Canal has been put together for us by Roger Halse, the Archivist for the Somersetshire Coal Canal Society. Roger is the author of the book ‘The Somersetshire Coal Canal’ which is available for sale in the Museum shop.
  • Talks programme: Bygone Days talks celebrate both local and national history. Talks are held at 7:30 pm at Chilcompton Village Hall in Chilcompton unless otherwise stated. Entry is £5, cash or card on the door, no booking required. Doors open at 7pm. Raffle available.
