Scalloway Pool opened on April 4th, 1993, and is located next to Scalloway School. Situated in a small village with a population of around 1,000, the pool offers leisure facilities for all and is popular with residents from surrounding communities. The facility consists of a four-lane, 16.7m main pool, a shallow lagoon designed for toddlers, a whirlpool, and a steam room. A spectator gallery overlooking the pool provides a relaxing space to unwind with a freshly made cup of coffee. A varied programme of activities is available, aiming to provide something enjoyable for everyone, whether under 5 years old or over 50. The friendly and informal atmosphere encourages families with young children to take their first steps towards becoming happy and confident in the water, striking a balance between learning and having fun. Structured swimming lessons are also very popular among visitors.
