Stratford Butterfly Farm is the UK’s largest tropical butterfly paradise, located in the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Open year-round, it offers a magical rainforest experience with hundreds of butterflies flying freely in exotic surroundings. It’s a relaxing, educational, and visually stunning outing for all ages.

Explore lush tropical gardens with waterfalls and fish-filled pools, visit the Rainforest Flight Area, and observe the full life cycle of butterflies in the Discovery Zone. Meet reptiles and invertebrates in Minibeast Metropolis, and discover the ancient Maya civilisation through themed displays and artefacts. Enjoy the Pollinator Garden in bloom from June to September.

Admission costs are £9.95 for adults, £8.60 for children, and £30.25 for a family of four. Infants enter free.

  • Discovery Zone: In the Discovery Zone observe the amazing life-cycle of a butterfly. Within the Emerging Case you may even see a butterfly hatch from its pupa! In the Discovery Zone you can see every stage of the butterfly’s fascinating life cycle. The egg, the caterpillar, the chrysalis and finally the adult.
  • Minibeast Metropolis: Minibeast Metropolis is teeming with life and houses one of the largest invertebrate collections in the UK. It is also home to reptiles, snakes, and amphibians. Come and see these fascinating creatures up close!
  • The Maya: Discover the fascinating connection that Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm has to the rainforests of Belize and the ancient Maya civilisation. Throughout the Butterfly Farm there are over 30 replicated ancient Maya artefacts!
  • The Pollinator Garden: From June to September the front garden of the Butterfly Farm is awash with a myriad of beautifully coloured perennials.
  • Rainforest Realm: The landscape, the plantscape, the creatures that live there and links to the ancient rainforest civilisation that is already a prominent feature within the butterfly farm, the Maya.
