Sunderland Wall is one of the largest indoor climbing centres in the UK, located in the historic Doxford Ship Works. It offers over 900m² of climbing and bouldering space, including three towering 23-metre walls, one of which is a competition wall that overhangs by an impressive 8 metres. With more than 140 routes on the main walls 90 of them top-rope routes spread over 32 lines there's something for every skill level. The bouldering area features around 200 problems as well as a MoonBoard for advanced training. A dedicated training zone is also available, equipped with campus and finger boards to help climbers develop strength and technique.

Sunderland Wall caters to both new and experienced climbers, offering a wide range of activities including adult and children's courses, birthday parties, kids' clubs and private coaching. For those just starting out, taster sessions are available at £20 per head. Regular single session entry is priced at £9 for adults and £6.50 for juniors.

Kids Classes
- Geckos: For ages 3-5, the youngest class introduces children to the climbing wall environment and helps them become comfortable on the wall. Instructors develop climbing skills through a range of games primarily based within the bouldering area and the children’s traverse wall. It is a fun and interactive way to start children on their climbing journey.
- Mini Monkeys: Designed for children aged 5 to 7, this class is ideal for those starting climbing early. Participants get to climb a variety of walls within the centre with the guidance of instructors. Climbing walls ranging from 6 up to 17 metres, children build confidence and improve their abilities. They also have the chance to use autobelays and the bouldering area.
- Rock Monkeys: For ages 7 and up, this class builds on Mini Monkeys and introduces aspects of roped climbing. Children learn to tie their own knots and belay each other in a safe, instructor-led environment. The sessions focus on different climbing techniques to help children progress and climb harder grades. The class includes a mix of roped climbing and bouldering.
- Rock Monkeys (Lead): This advanced class is for children progressing at a good level who wish to develop lead climbing skills. It teaches more advanced belaying techniques and climbing a wall with a rope from the ground. Due to the advanced nature of the class, enrollment is at the instructor’s discretion.
Coaching: One-on-one coaching sessions are available for individuals seeking to improve climbing ability through private, tailored sessions that match specific goals and skill levels. Whether a beginner or experienced climber, coaching sessions are designed to suit personal needs. During the first session, instructors assess and discuss climbing weaknesses to tailor future coaching toward specific goals, maximizing progress.

- Learn to Climb: This course teaches the basics of roped climbing in four one-hour instructor-led. Key skills include tying knots (re-threaded figure of eight with double overhand stopper knot), proper belaying techniques, safety checks, communication between climber and belayer, and basic climbing techniques.
- Private Induction Course: Offers a more intensive 1-2-1 or paired session with an instructor.
- Top Rope: Covers the same fundamentals as the Learn to Climb course, providing essential knowledge for safe navigation of the centre.

Battlezone Archery: Uses the latest equipment to deliver an action-packed, adrenaline-filled game suitable for all ages. The game is designed to be user-friendly. Two teams of equal players face off across a purpose-built field layout, each team with five specially designed bunkers and five target cones holding balls
Mobile Climbing Tower: Standing 7.5 meters high and capable of holding four climbers simultaneously, the mobile climbing tower is available for hire by the half or full day. It is an ideal option for special occasions such as birthday parties, school groups, GCSE activities, corporate events, and more.
