The Raptor Foundation is a registered charity in Cambridgeshire that has been rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for birds of prey for over 30 years. Home to around 170 rescued birds, it focuses on both rehabilitation and lifelong care while raising awareness through education and conservation. Visitors can enjoy engaging displays that showcase the natural behaviours of these magnificent birds.

The centre offers exciting experiences such as “Meet The Birds,” where guests can handle owls, hawks, and falcons; “Hawk Walks” through the countryside; the action-packed “Ultimate Experience”; full-day falconry sessions; and magical “Twilight Flying” events featuring nocturnal owls. Facilities include a café, car parking, and baby-changing amenities, making it family-friendly.

Admission prices are £8 for adults, £5 for children (3–15), £6.50 for seniors, and £25 for a family ticket, with children under 3 free. Special experiences and events have separate pricing.

  • Meet The Birds: This experience is the ideal gift for children and adults that have a fascination with birds of prey. You will be greeted on arrival and taken for tea or coffee. You will then be introduced to your falconer who will give you a brief safety talk. Your experience can be tailored to suit you and will begin with a guided tour of the centre. You will get to meet and handle a variety of birds including the Little Owl, Barn Owl, European Eagle Owl, Buzzard, Harris Hawk, Kestrel and several falcons. 
  • Hawk Walk: his half day experience is the ideal gift for lovers of birds and the countryside. You can enjoy the pleasure of flying one of our hawks in a natural environment. You will be greeted on arrival and taken for tea or coffee. You will then be introduced to your falconer who will give you a brief safety talk. When ready you will be introduced to the bird that you will be taking on the walk. 
  • The Ultimate Experience: This full day experience is the perfect gift for those that enjoy the thrill of the hunt as well as getting up close to some of our other birds. Being greeted on arrival and taken for tea or coffee, this is where you are introduced to your falconer for the day and they will take you through a brief safety talk. It’s then off to meet the birds that will be your feathered friends for the day. This will be either a Harris Hawk(s) or a Red Tailed Hawk for the first half of the day, both of which can be awesome to watch as they chase their prey. 
  • Falconry Experience: This full day experience is designed to give you an insight into the needs, housing and care of a bird of prey including flying and handling owls, hawks and falcons and can be tailored to suit you. You will be greeted on arrival and taken for tea or coffee, this is where you are introduced to your falconer for the day and he takes you through a brief safety talk.
  • Twilight Flying: These magical evenings are designed to give you an insight into the life of nocturnal birds of prey. We fly a selection of owls from around the world including the Barn owl, Little owl, Scops owl and European Eagle owl. You will be told about their habitats, longevity and food chains. Also what we can do to preserve these majestic and fascinating birds.

Birthday Party Details

Your party at The Raptor Foundation will be an enjoyable, educational and memorable experience for which we recommend that you allow approximately 2 hours.

The cost per child is £12.95 and the minimum age is 8 years old. This cost includes admission, Birds of Prey party(which includes a flying display). A hot or cold menu is also included. Parents of the birthday child get free admission.
