Valley Farm Equestrian Leisure is a unique equestrian centre, located in Wickham Market, Suffolk, United Kingdom. We have 82 acres of beautiful meadows and woodland, forming a haven for wildlife in an Environmentally Sensitive Area.

At the riding school a diverse range of equestrian sports and disciplines are taught, including carriage driving, natural horsemanship, agility, sidesaddle, vaulting, horseball, western riding, polo, polocrosse, dressage, show jumping, working hunter, le trec, horse agility, working equitation and stable management. There is also specialist tack and vehicles available, and specially trained horses to enable the disabled to enjoy riding and carriage driving.

LESSON TIMES
Lessons at Valley Farm are either for one hour or 30 minutes. This includes mounting and dismounting time and returning the horses to their stables. New riders will be assisted and taught how to fetch their pony from the stable, how to check and adjust their tack, and how to mount correctly. They will also be helped to return their horses safely after riding until they are able to do this themselves.
WESTERN RIDING
Anyone can learn to ride Western style. Many people find it is easier than learning to ride with an ordinary English saddle as the design of the saddle offers more support, and the horse is trained to use smoother paces which are easier to sit to. Come and find out for yourself the ease of riding Western style, or how to train your own horse. Learn how western schooling can improve your horse’s way of going, and improve him for ordinary riding.
SIDE SADDLE
Side Saddle is a form of equitation which allows a rider to sit with both legs to one side. Riding aside rather than astride dates back to antiquity, but was developed in the middle ages as a way for women in skirts to ride a horse in a modest fashion, and up until the war was the most usual way for girls and women to ride.
VAULTING
Horse vaulting or equestrian vaulting is an exciting sport which everyone can enjoy. It combines dancing, gymnastics and riding into a sport which can be a spectacular to watch, and is fun to do, no matter what your level of experience. Otherwise known as gymnastics on horseback, vaulting was a popular sport in Roman times. It evolved along different paths to become circus bareback riding, roman riding, and various brances of trick riding.
HORSEBALL
Horseball is fast exciting equestrian game played on horseback. The ball is a size-4 football surrounded by a harness with 6 handles and points are scored by shooting it through a high net (approximately 1.5m×1.5m). The sport is like a combination of polo, rugby, and basketball. It is one of the ten disciplines officially recognized by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports.

Horse riding is a great way for busy adults to regain soom 'me time' in their lives. Working with horses helps you to forget about everything else which is going on in your life, and just concentrate on the present moment.

All this while you have the opportunity to gain internationally recognised achievement badges and qualifications. We provide various clubs to suit all ages from 2 years to adults.
HOLIDAYS
Stay with them in the Holiday Lodge or on our Campsite. We also offer five day residential pony camp holidays for children. We provide a well rounded, fun packed, educational holiday experience in a safe environment. Boys and girls have enjoyed Pony Camps at Valley Farm since 1986 with many returning year after year.
