Every boy and girl has the opportunity to represent the College in over 900 fixtures in some 20 sports involving over 80 staff every year.
Art is an important part of everyday life at the College and there are many opportunities to explore new skills.
Art textiles is a popular subject at the College and offers both curricular and co-curricular opportunities to learn and experiment with new skills. The art textiles department is open during non-teaching time to support all pupils who wish to pursue their interest in this area.
Formal dance tuition is available to pupils, separate to the study of GCSE and A-level dance. Dance tuition has many positive effects, not least helping to improve a young person’s flexibility, physical fitness and posture.
The College enjoys a distinguished reputation for drama productions which involve pupils from all year groups and houses. With three internal drama spaces and an outside theatrical space, there are endless opportunities for pupils to be involved, be it treading the boards or backstage.
The Design and Technology Department has an outstanding reputation both regionally and nationally. In addition to academic lessons, there are a wide range of opportunities for all pupils. The department encourages pupils to participate in a variety of competitions and, in recent years, significant successes have been achieved in many different disciplines.
Music is an integral part of life at Eastbourne College. A high proportion of pupils study an instrument and there are numerous opportunities for all to get involved in activities ranging from, for example, the Chapel Choir to the Concert Band, to the Symphony Orchestra to the popular Singer Songwriter Club.
