Fellside Community Primary School is a state primary school for kids age 3 - 11 (Gender - Mixed)
At Fellside, they nurture curiosity, creativity and the love of learning through an inspiring, broad and engaging curriculum, where learning is at the heart of all that they do. They are all challenged and encouraged to thrive and achieve as individuals and from collaboration through partnerships. Through personal development, our pupils develop commitment, confidence and aspiration to achieve and maximise their potential. They can respond positively to change and become fully prepared for both the next stage in their future and to become tolerant, responsible, caring citizens of 21st century Britain
Curriculum
The curriculum builds progressive core knowledge and key curriculum skills across all National Curriculum subjects. It leads to pupils being able to recall and describe knowledge and concepts in familiar, unfamiliar, local and global contexts. The curriculum is designed to enable pupils to make clear connections between their developing acquisition of knowledge and concepts; their prior learning and their lived experiences. Fundamentally, the single driver of our curriculum is to ensure that Fellside children become successful, confident and responsible, ready for the next stage in their lives.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Information for Parents and Carers
As part of the government’s reforms around special educational needs (SEN) and disability, and with the introduction of the new code of Practice in September 2014, local authorities are required to publish a local offer showing the support available to disabled children and young people and those with SEN and their families and carers.Gateshead Psychological Service supports schools and families to ensure that all children and young people can have the opportunity to fulfil their potential. The service comprises Educational Psychologists, who are trained in how to apply psychology to child development, teaching, learning and behaviour. They work with a wide range of issues which can impact upon children and young people’s progress in school, including specific and general learning difficulties, language and communication skills, social emotional and mental health.
