Highfield and Brookham Schools Ltd is Independent Secondary school in Not applicable for kids aged 2 to 13 (Gender - 2 to 13 )
Highfield and Brookham Schools are Pre-prep and Prep Schools in Liphook for boys and girls aged 2-13, nestled on the leafy borders of Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey. They celebrate the genuine independence and prepare children for the leading boarding and top day schools. Not being answerable to a senior school or trust results in a strong sense of togetherness and a welcoming family feel. They work together with our children and their families to ensure the children receive the very best education possible.
Pre-prep
Welcome to Brookham, an independent pre-prep for boys and girls aged from 2-8 years. They’re located in wonderful 175-acre grounds in Liphook, within the South Downs National Park, and welcome families from across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex. The children that join us benefit from small class sizes and high staff-to-children ratios which gift the teachers the time to develop each individual child, helping them build the foundations to becoming courageous and independent life-long learners. As the children move up through the school into Reception and Years 1-3, learning becomes more formalised, but there’s still plenty of time for the children to explore and discover. All the children benefit from the expansive natural environment as we take learning outside at every opportunity, be that toasting a marshmallow over the campfire or discovering the wildlife that lives in the woodlands. Child-led activities give the children freedom to learn at their own pace and allows them to developand pursue their own interests. All children at Brookham develop further skills with specialist subject teachers in weekly lessons in PE, Swimming, Ballet, Spanish, Drama, Music and Forest School.
Nursery
Nursery is the exciting first step on a child's learning journey and at Brookham we ensure that this is a magical time, full of adventure and discovery. Children can join Nursery from the moment they turn 2 years old and our experienced Head of Early Years, Mrs Samantha Forster, and her team go the extra mile to deliver the best possible start to your child's education, nurturing a love of discovery and captivating and developing the curiosity and inquisitive minds of our very youngest children.
Prep
The pupils’ wellbeing is at the core of all that they do. Children need to feel secure and settled in order to be able to learn successfully and thrive. The teachers get to know each child as an individual, so their unique needs are truly recognised and understood. All this may sound too good to be true, but it is evident in our success. Highfield has an outstanding record of scholarships and in securing the pupils entry to their first-choice senior school. Children leave us as confident young people, well prepared and excited for their next steps at some of the top senior schools in the country.
Extra-curricular Excellence
Extra-curricular activities at Highfield and Brookham provide opportunities for all children to broaden their horizons, discover new interests and find something they truly enjoy. Children are encouraged to pursue their interests and follow their passions by taking part in a wide variety of clubs and activities. They firmly believe it enriches and broadens their educational opportunities as children develop a broad range of interests and skills which will stay with them for years to come.
Selection Criteria: Selective
Highfield and Brookham is broadly non-selective and takes pupils with a range of abilities, which they believe is an essential element of the strength and gives the schools great character. Children generally need to be of national average academic ability, but the ‘whole child’ is always considered. The admissions process is designed to identify pupils who will benefit from our balanced and well-rounded education and make a positive contribution toward school life. For children moving from other schools, the emphasis is on their performance and conduct at their current school and the comments of their headteachers. We like to offer all children a trial day so they can get a feel for us and us for them. There are no formal written assessments.

Bursaries
As part of the centenary celebrations in 2007, Highfield created an award scheme offering funded school places for children who would draw exceptional benefit from joining the school, perhaps as a result of less than optimal family or educational circumstances. Children offered Centenary Awards are funded jointly by the Bursaries Fund and the school, which matches awards made by the fund.
