King of Kings

Description

King of Kings is Independent Secondary school in Non-selective for kids aged 3 to 18 (Gender - 3 to 18 )

At the King of Kings School, Jesus is the centre of everything they do. The Christian curriculum, administered by Christian teachers, ensures that the school day itself has Jesus at the centre. The school has a loving, nurturing environment. We reinforce the Christian family values of the home, building wisdom, fostering respect and encouraging good discipline. They take time with each child individually, getting to know them and helping them flourish in their work and as they grow in character. The King of Kings School is a non-denominational Christian school, providing a caring and stable environment in which students can reach high standards of academic, social, moral, spiritual and emotional development. There is a high teacher/student ratio. We aim for academic excellence, but emphasize godly character above all. We are here to support families who want to bring up their children in a Christian environment. Our objective is to transmit godly Christian culture to the next generation.

Curriculum
The school uses ACE for its core teaching: Maths, English, Social Studies, Science, Word Building, Literature and Biblical Studies.  ACE is used from YN to Y13. The ACE curriculum is highly technical and sophisticated and uses mastery learning and individualisation to deliver a differentiated and personalised academic curriculum with training in character, work study and self management skills.  It is thorough and its assessments are robust. The school has developed complementary activities to extend, enrich and embed the teaching of the ACE curriculum.  Where PACEs provide the theory and some practical, in science and maths for example, the complementary activities extend the practical.  Where it provides the grammar of a language, the complementary activities will provide additional opportunities for reading, speaking and writing.  British History teaching and British Geography skills are added. The ACE workbooks contain formative tests.  The summative assessment is through separate tests given at the end of each workbook.

Features

Things to note

Learning Centers
The Learning Centre is a place of quiet study, where the students work individually on their specially diagnosed curriculum.  Each student has his own office, or desk, where he is able to experience a stable, personal environment.  He works through his workbooks (PACEs) and signals the Supervisor or Monitor when he needs assistance.  This leads to a very independent group of students who are able to take responsibility and control of their work, knowing their work styles and abilities.  As well as work study skills, this environment also trains them to have goal setting and research skills. The integrated system takes the students through to ICCE levels General to Advanced (preparing them for work, college or university). They take students of all types and conditions, denominations and backgrounds. Although they have extremely high academic standards, character development is given equal place.
