Lower Prep
It is rare to find such a magical alchemy as in the Lower Prep where shyness and diffidence gradually evolve into confidence and enthusiasm. The talented teachers offer a warm, nurturing environment where children receive outstanding care at the beginning of their school life. They accept boys - and girls - in the term of their fifth birthday and support them through to the end of Year 4 when they move into Upper Prep as established and valuable members of our school community.
Upper Prep
In the Upper Prep, there is a convivial atmosphere of friendship and purpose. The pupils continue their journey of all-round enrichment and learn to think independently so that they are prepared for the move into the Senior Years. We build each child’s confidence by giving them a strong academic platform, together with important life skills, that will enable them to grow in self-belief and help them achieve their full potential. There is a philosophy at Kingswood House of educating the whole child, nurturing confidence and developing self-esteem. Pupils are encouraged to enjoy their learning and develop their skills in a calm environment of intellectual curiosity.
Seniors
The Senior Years at Kingswood House offer a unique, forward-thinking brand of education for boys and girls through to GCSE. As well as a strong academic platform, the students benefit from a carefully-constructed programme of all-round learning that will equip them with the tools to successfully continue their journey into further education or employment.Kingswood House prides itself on having a supportive environment in which each individual can achieve his, or her, potential and feel valued. This philosophy remains of paramount importance in the Senior Years. They passionately believe that every boy or girl is entitled to an inspirational learning environment and the small class sizes, enhanced by a wonderful form tutor system, ensure that this aim is universally achieved.
Extra Curricular Clubs
At Kingswood House, they believe that learning takes place both inside and outside of the classroom. Pupils are warmly encouraged to undertake one or two clubs per week in order to help them acquire new skills, foster collaborative teamwork, and, of course, to have enormous fun into the bargain. Some clubs are run by external providers and attract a small charge; others are run in-house, by KHS staff, at no additional cost. Any general enquiries about Club provision in school should be made to the Clubs Coordinator.
Sports Pitches
They are delighted that Kingswood House are able to use the sports pitches in association with Ashtead FC at Parsons Mead. They are a large, expansive facility which will allow them to train, practice and play many more fixtures across the age and ability range. It is a statement of intent for the School in order to develop our inclusive policy of “Sport for All”.
