Outwood Academy Easingwold is State Secondary school for kids aged 11 to 18 (Gender - Mixed)

They are an 11-18 academy rated Outstanding by Ofsted, based in the market town of Easingwold in North Yorkshire, near York. They are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. They place students at the centre of everything they do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning. The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2018 and as a member of the Outwood Family they believe in putting Students First, raising standards and transforming lives.

Curriculum
The vision is Students First: Raising Standards and Transforming Lives. To achieve this vision, we provide an ambitious first-class educational experience for every child who attends our inclusive academy believing the quality of education a child receives empowers their future choices and life chances. The academy has a shared articulation for the Outwood curriculum experience which follows the journey of a child through the school. The curriculum provision maps our Intrinsic Curriculum - which builds the inclusive, caring culture and ethos; the Enhancement Curriculum - which fosters personal development and social understanding; the Academic Curriculum - which sequences knowledge, understanding and skills to aid learning; and our Elective Curriculum - which offers enriching opportunities and experiences for all. Together, these elements provide not just a broad and balanced academic experience but also a wealth of treasured and enriching experiences for all the children and young people we educate.

Enriching and Extending Learning
To complement the students’ academic study, they provide a wealth of support, guidance and engagement opportunities that enrich our students’ educational experience and support their learning. It is not always possible to find a quiet area at home to complete work and therefore extended learning is not simply viewed as an out of school activity. Any activity that broadens our students’ experience, knowledge and understanding will extend their learning be it home learning or learning beyond the classroom in the school setting. The academy provides a wide range of extended learning opportunities including access to a variety of on-line learning programmes, intranet subject resources, small group catch up interventions, after school academic support sessions and well planned homework to enable students to extend and complement their learning.

Special Educational Needs and Disability
They welcome all children to Outwood Academy Easingwold and they prioritise admission for children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
