Welcome to Ponteland Community Primary School! We are an ‘outstanding school where children thrive’ [Ofsted 2008, Ofsted 2013] and continue to develop the school with the School Council, Parents’ Forum and Trustees. Children have said they ‘feel they have developed as people’; Ofsted and School Improvement Partner say the school ‘permeates positivity and calm’. The pupils say that they like to be fit and healthy and that is what makes them happy which makes the Platinum Gamesmark accreditation so important to everyone. Curriculum
The national curriculum is a set of subjects and standards used by primary and secondary schools so children follow a similar programme of study. It covers the subjects and the standards children should reach in each year group. Curriculum maps for each year group are reviewed regularly and published.In PSHE KS2 children look at careers and enjoy business enterprise activities, e.g. Beautiful Bags, where all children are supported in their understanding of the roles within a successful business team.We create a bespoke STEAM week for all children which is an exceptional week of enrichment activities and collapsed curriculum, including Digital School House activities, coding, trips, workshops, technology activities, team building, and in-house activities built around the world of work.
