Admission Details

Nursery and Prep admissions: Be assessed in English and Mathematics. The taster day will fully immerse your daughter in her school routine and give her a feel for what it is like to be at School here.

Senior and Sixth Form admissions:

  • Joining in Year 7: Girls wishing to join in Year 7 from schools other than Royal High Prep School need to take entrance assessment and will be invited for an interview. The interviews give girls an opportunity to demonstrate skills not revealed in written papers and ask any questions of their own. Students will be asked to prepare a three-minute talk and bring along something of which they are proud.
  • Joining in Year 8 and beyond: Girls wishing to join us in Years 8, 9 and 10 are required to sit assessments in English and Mathematics. Girls entering Years 9 and 10 also have to complete Science assessments in addition to English and Maths. Current schools will be asked for a report on students' progress and candidates might also have an interview with the Head of Modern Languages to assess their language ability.
  • Joining Sixth Form: Entry into Royal High School is dependent on a minimum of six GCSEs at grade 6 and above (or equivalent qualifications) and candidates are expected to achieve grade 7 in subjects they wish to study at A Level or IB. You'll need a minimum of a grade 4 in both English and Mathematics. Some students will be required to take papers to assess their ability in English, Maths and option subjects. A Skype interview may be requested for overseas students.
