Sinclair House Montessori Nursery occupies two bright and spacious premises, each with outside garden space and play areas. They aim to provide a happy and relaxed environment where the children are encouraged to develop their self-confidence, sense of independence and social skills through a Montessori learning journey. A focus on developing the “whole child” in alignment with the Montessori philosophy, empowers children to be self-motivated, independent and curious learners through exploratory activities using specially designed materials.

Nursery
When children join us at the age of 8 months they are expected to attend with a minimum of 3 sessions per week, with the option of adding additional morning or afternoon sessions.This is in order to ensure continuity and ease the children's "settling-in" period. Once the children turn three, they move from the Lower into the Upper Nursery, where they attend a minimum of five mornings weekly.
Prep
The children make the transition to Pre-Reception, the final phase of Nursery, when they’re ready to make the step and they are at least 3 and a half years old.The transition into Pre-Reception helps to provide a seamless link across the EYFS settings and support pupils' learning as they "move up" into the Preparatory Phase and onto "big school."Focused time in the Pre-Reception classroom follows the Montessori Curriculum helping to prepare the children as they get ready to make the move across to a Mainstream Educational Programme at Reception age.

Children are taught in small groups, where emphasis is on creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where children feel safe, nurtured and confident to approach their journey through nursery with joy and eagerness!With two large outdoor purpose built playgrounds, the children can benefit from environments that are full of exciting and interesting activities and materials to work and play with. Everything in their specific environments is made to be easily accessible to the children and are always under the close guidance and observation of our Montessori accredited Directress’.
