South Lakes Academy is an Independent Special School, Ofsted registered in 2019 with the Department for Education. We offer alternative educational provision for pupils aged 11-21 years with mild to moderate learning or emotional difficulties.Mostly, but not exclusively students will have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The EHCP is used to create a unique educational programme to enable them to achieve their full potential in a friendly, supportive and stress-free environment. Typically, education will be delivered on a one-to-one or semi-private basis, however, small group sessions are also available.

Facilities

  • Founded in 2016, South Lakes Academy is an Alternative Provision education establishment for students who, for a number of reasons, are unable to attend a mainstream school.
  • At South Lakes Academy we will provide a safe, supportive learning environment with opportunities for each student to develop the skills and knowledge to become a responsible, successful citizen.
