St Antony’s is a Catholic school and they work closely with our priests and the parishioners of our local church St. Antony’s, as well as the diocese, Brentwood. Curriculum
The general aim of the school is to recognise the individual qualities of each child and to develop them to his or her full potential. They help each child to foster an attitude of reverence and love for God and neighbour and to acquire the knowledge and skills relevant to the ever changing world. They offer a broad and balanced curriculum which endeavours to fulfil the requirements of the Education Acts for England. Numeracy and Literacy are taught daily. Religious Education is a core subject and timetabled accordingly. They follow the Diocesan programme for Sex Education based on a developmental approach including personal, health, social, moral and citizenship aspects. All subjects are taught in accordance with the National Curriculum guidelines and they adopt a mixture of single-subject teaching and topic approach. They have strong links with several secondary schools and outside agencies that provide staff with specialist skills in order to support and extend the children’s learning opportunities and development.

SEND
The Inclusion Team at St. Antony’s Catholic Primary provides support for pupils who for one reason or another are having difficulty accessing the curriculum. The Inclusion Team consists of: 3 full time teachers, SENCO/ Inclusion Manager – Jenella Baptiste, School Therapist – Airen Koopmans, 9 Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA), Over 20 Teaching Assistants and Volunteers (EA), The EA's provide support in lessons for pupils having difficulties accessing the curriculum. Learning support teachers teach and monitor the progress of pupils on the Code of Practice. SEN teacher is qualified to assess and provide individualised programs for pupils with more severe literacy difficulties such as dyslexia.She is also able to assess pupils at the end of each key stage for extra support in exams.
